Today we are announcing that the development of the RoboDomain project has been officially discontinued as of December 1st, 2013.
The RoboDomain web site will remain operational until the end of the year, to give our users the time to migrate to a different service. After December 31st, 2013 RoboDomain will be closed and it will no longer be possible to login into the account. All domain notifications will be disabled.
RoboDomain was initially developed under the RoboDomain Inc. company. The company and the project were acquired in 2012 by Aetrion LLC, the company behind DNSimple.
Since then we did our best to keep both projects running in parallel, but it was a huge effort for the size of our company. We eventually decided to integrate part of the most important features into DNSimple, such as the renewal notification system.
Here are answers to some questions you may have about this announcement. We may add or update questions over time.
We currently don’t have a recommendation for a service matching RoboDomain features.
We encourage our RoboDomain users to look at the features offered by DNSimple. However, DNSimple and RoboDomain are not the same service and for this reason we decided to not migrate RoboDomain customers into DNSimple.
We will leave the choice to you. Of course, we’ll be more than happy to help you in the transition. In case you should have any questions, feel free to contact us or write an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
You will be able to access your domain details and information until the end of the year. After that date, the service will be no longer available and you will not be able to access your data anymore. Eventually the system will be shut down and all data will be erased.
We stopped to collect payments from our paid users on August 2013. Your credit card will no longer be charged. We will remove your payment details as soon as we close the accounting procedures for the year 2013.
